All accounts point to the possibility that I may explode soon. The reason for this impending doom is that it appears someone has found a way to bring my nerdy infatuation with Batman and my nerdy love of good video games together in the new game “Batman: Arkham Asylum.”
I’m wary of most super hero games, far too often they suck (Marvel: Ultimate Alliance being one of the more notable exceptions in my book). So, a few months ago when I got wind of this game I assumed it wouldn’t be that good.
Yet, I have been given reason to finally get excited. To say reviews of the game are glowing would be an understatement. Best of all the news I have come across regarding the game is that it is insanely fun, is deeply rooted in a passion for the source material, and that it focuses a good deal of Batman’s detective abilities. Sometimes Batman’s status as “The World’s Greatest Detective” is left out of popular manifestations. The fact that the sleuthing plays a primary role in gameplay is quite exciting to a nerd such as myself.
That being the case, it may be too much for me to handle, thus I may blow into bits, or at the very least spontaneously combust. I need that sort of thing this summer, so I can’t wait until I can afford to get my hands on this bad boy. However, if I disappear, never to be seen again, you’ll know what happened.
Awesome three minute teaser from SDCC for the new Tron film, Tron Legacy. The first Tron was ahead of its time, maybe this one will be right on time.
I don’t get much time to play video games, but last night I was finally able to sit down and beat Assassin’s Creed. In celebration of that I offer all of you a lovely glimpse at the trailer for Assassin’s Creed 2. This time around we are transported from the Crusades to 15th Century Venice.
It looks like the sequel will be as slick, beautiful and addictive as its predecessor, and I would imagine they have plenty of tricks up their sleeves as well (such as the fact that it looks as if this time we get to play with guns). Ugh, November can’t come soon enough!
